History of the Society
The seed for Glenamaddy Musical Society was sown in John L. Garvey's pub, in early 1994. John L. and Bernadette Ganley commented on the talent in the community and thought it could be utilized in a musical society. They shared the idea with Patricia Keady, Josephine Donlon, Seamus and Cathriona Donohue, who were enthusiastic about the prospect.
The musical journey began. With Rev. Fr. Michael Goaley P.P. as Patron a committee was formed. Chairperson -Bernadette Ganley, Secretary-Catriona Donohoe, Treasurer - Alphonsus Timothy and P.R.O. - Catherine Brennan. The first production took place in December 1994 in a variety concert, produced and directed by Declan Feeney.
